Video to DVD Packages
Send us your VHS or VHS-C tapes and we will put it on DVD for you. Depending on the length of your video, we may be able to combine your scanned photos or digital photos with your video all on one DVD! This means you can have your vacation video and photos all on one DVD. We have several packages to choose from. All the packages include the following:
* Quality DVD-R Media
* Free DVD imprint (Text only) enclosed in a black slimline jewel case. Optional image of choice, only $3 more.
* Optional:Black DVD Case with photo cover only $10 more.

Video Package #1

This approach is highly automated. We will provide you with a DVD menu and your chapters will automatically be created every 5, 10, 15 or 20 minutes ( your choice). Note that these chapter points can occur anywhere. So if you want a chapter point at the beginning of a wedding for instance, please choose package #2. Maximum amount of video is 2 hours.

Price $24.99 (2 hours), $12.99 (1 hour). Please note taxes and shipping are extra. On this DVD we can include a Photo slideshow of up to 100 digital photographs for just $20 more. Scanned photos are extra.

Customized editing of your video. Lets face it, who wants to watch 15 minutes of people opening presents. We will go through and condense the video even adding rolling text to introduce new section. You approve the final cut. If you have 2 or more videos that you want combined, we can do that to. We will go through your video and mark appropriate chapter points. Maximum amount of video is 1.5 hours per DVD. If you require more video we have to put it on another DVD (requires purchase of another package).

Photo Scanning Prices and Digital Image Pricing

Photo Slideshow Prices :

The photo slide show can be placed on a cd (usually called a VCD) or a DVD (usually called DVD-r). To calculate the price of the VCD or DVD-R slide show (add the Photo Scanning price + $49.99 ( for creating the slideshow up to 120 photos (6 by 4 prints or smaller) + Optional extras.

For example, if you had 100 photos or slides you wanted scanned for your slideshow the total cost would be: (100 * .49) + $49.99 for the slideshow = $98.99 (+ applicable taxes).

The price includes these 3 services:

1) Photo Processing for Slideshow:

- Automated colour restoration and

- Automated contrast adjustments will be performed on all scanned and digital photos.

- Each image is individually viewed, colour assessed and adjusted, as much as possible, for pleasing contrast and colour.

- Resolution: VCD 2.0( 720*480), or DVD-r format, your choice. We will create a CD Slide Show with DVD quality, "VCD2 Format," that plays on your TV from your compatible DVD player. Alternatively, we can output to DVD-r, again excellent quality. Either way your pictures will be clearly viewable on your TV.

2) Slide Processing For Your Slideshow:
- Digital Ice (removes small scratches and dust) and ROC (Colour restoration) performed on your slides.
- Slides are scanned in at 2000dpi, saved in jpeg format.
- Cropping of slides to remove borders.

3) More Included Services:
- Free 2d Random Transitions , with "Pan and Zoom". The Pan and Zoom or Ken Burns effect as it is sometimes called is perhaps the most important part of the show. It gives you a professional documentary feel to your DVD.

- Each pictures is set to show between 3 to 5 seconds(adjustable). Depends on music and transitions(2 seconds per photo).

- We can include up to 3 song that you supply us with. Royalty free classical music can be added if desired.

- Remove silent gaps at the beginning and end of a song. Most music is like this.

- Free conversion to MP3 format.

- Maximum of 8 chapters per main menu.

- Your personalized text imprinted on a CD-R or DVD-r disk with a free slim line jewel case.

You choose the order of the photos (if you want to).

Optional Extras:
- photos larger than 6*4 will have to be processed for 25 cents more because it takes us longer to do.
- DVD Case and cover page with photo of your choice and text, add $10. This makes it look like at store bought dvd case!
- If you have more than 120 photos in your slide show, each additional photo over 120 will cost 50 cents plus the scanned price, i.e. for print scans .50 + .49 , and for digital prints .50 + .29 cents. We need to charge more because of the extra time it takes to make the slide show. The scanning prices remains the same.
- 3d transition, $15 per 100 photos/slides.
- Optional: We can also purchase a song for you at $3 each. Each additional song that you provide us with will cost $2.
- For 300dpi JPEG scans add 5¢ more per photo.
- Minor photo retouching $1 per photo. (remove dust, small scratches, red eye).
- Convert DVD to tape: $20 for the first VHS tape you order and duplicates cost:

Before placing your order, please check your DVD manual to make sure it can read either VCD formatted disks and or DVD-r disks. How Do I Know If My DVD Player Will Be Able To Read Your Disks?
Note: If your DVD player is not compatible, don't worry, we can put the slide show on VHS tape, (see package number. The important thing is that your preserving the photos on CD or DVD!

Note:DVD-R disks can hold between 1500-1700 scanned digitized photos. A VCD can hold 215 photos and 5 (3 minute songs).

If you are trying to estimate the number of pictures you have, the following is a good rule of thumb. There are approximately 80 pictures in an inch of photos. You don't have to count the photos, we will tally it. Same goes for the slides.

Please note you can combine the digital photos with other packages. In order to avoid additional charges please read below.

If your files are not in JPEG format we must charge additional 10 cents per digital photo to have it converted to JPEG.

If your sending us a Cd-r or USB micro drive please make sure your photos are sorted by image name. We need all your images put in one folder. That folder can have up to 99 sub folders. In other words, you can have ONE folder on your disk with multiple sub folders within that folder, but you cannot have sub folders within sub folders.If we have to organize for you, the charges will be $1 per folder regardless of how many images are in it.

If we have to load more than one disk (media) of images, the charge will be $1 for each extra disk.

Carefully select your music's length to match the display time of your slide show. Each 3 minute song reduces the amount of photos you can fit on a DVD by 200!.

If you want background music synchronized with your slides then supply us with the CD's and we will include them. We can also purchase a song for you at $1.50 each.

If you must have music, we would recommend doing two types of disks:

1. A non-musical slideshow, which will allow you to hold many more digitized photos and
2. A separate Musical Slideshow. For only $20 more you get musical version plus a DVD case and cover. Obviously some slideshow will have to be removed to fit in all the music.

Your VCD or DVD main menu will be composed of several slideshows. Each show is represented by a photograph. Lets say you wanted some shows to display text instead of a photo. For example you could display the following text at the start of a show, "Class of 85", or "Birthday Party". We call this extra slide a text frame. Each text frame is $1.

Also adding text to a photo is $1 more per photo. Note the text is only viewable when playing on the slideshow, not on the actual photo. Ideal for special photos and DVD chapter menus. For example, we added the text "Photos On TV" to the photo below.

We don't have to add the text directly to the photo, instead, we can add it to the Photo Slideshow.

Scanning Individual Pages in a Photo Album

If the photos are not covered with any kind of plastic sheeting, we can scan the photos without removing them from the pages. We charge $5 CDN per page(front and back) plus the price for scanning each photo on the page. If there is any writing on the page we can scan that in as well, at the usual scanning price.

Photos in plastic pocket sheets can be risky because some photos have become glued to the plastic. Removing them could ruin them. By sending us your photo albums you agree not to hold us libel for any damage that may occur (see our terms and conditions page). If you are willing to take this risk then we will be happy to give you a quote once we see the condition of the album. Prices start at $7 per album page(depending on conditions), plus the cost of scanning each photo. This is quite time consuming. We need to delicately remove each picture from both sides of the page, scan them and then put them back in the pockets.

If you would like to put your photos into a new acid free plastic sheets we can order them as well (the cost will very).

Compare apples with apples not oranges. Ask these questions before you go with anyone else:

1) What resolution do they scan at? If they say they scan at 300 or 600 dpi, chances are they are using a cheap desk top scanner. Remember that the higher the resolution (ppi) the more detail you see in the picture. We start at 1000 dpi and can go up to 4000 dpi! Make sure you match the dpi to the print size (see chart below). We use professional equipment, like the Nikon 5000 ED slide scanner.

2) Do they charge you extra for the cd or dvd and jewel case. You may require 3 or 4 cds, the costs will add up fast. We can print your dedication directly on to your dvd free of charge. Labels can come off and ruin your dvd drive.

3) How much do they charge for making copies of the cd's?

4) Do they offer Digital ROC: This technology restores proper color to faded or color shifted film originals. If your negatives or slides are older and have suffered color degradation, this is strongly recommended to restore original image color fidelity and yield master image files suitable for image preservation archiving. If they have never heard of Digital Ice or Roc, STAY AWAY!

5) Do they offer Digital GEM: Reduces the graininess from an image.

Note if you have over 150 slides and you reside in the GTA area we will pickup and drop off your order free of charge. There is no need for you to lug around all those slides, pay for parking and gas( a $20 value). We will also give you a demo dvd to make sure DVD slideshows work with your player.

6) We review each digital slide manually to ensure the best possible quality .

We will scan your slides, e-mail you back the scanned images, and return your slides to you by regular postal service free (not insured).

Photo Restoration Information

1) You send us your original art and ORDER FORM.

2) We prepare a cost estimate and send it to your e-mail address.

3) You review and accept the cost estimate, and make the advance payment by cheque, money order or PayPal.

4) Upon receipt of your payment, we start our repair work.

5) We complete our repair work and send an approval digital file of the new image to your e-mail address.

6) You review and accept our repair work, or
request changes – if the image is not yet as you would like it to be. We incorporate the changes and send you a new approval file (back to step 5).

7) Upon receipt of your final approval, we will produce the final image in the format(s) you have chosen (prints, CD-ROM or FTP files) and copies of the image in quantities you ordered, if any. We will also return to you all your originals.

Annual Storage Plan

The cost of this peace of mind storage plan is $14.99 per year.

- We store your content on two different media.

- We make every effort to store your CD's or DVD's in two locations. In the unlikely hood of a disaster in one location we will have a backup copy at another location.

- Backup copies are tested before being placed into storage.

- Every 5 to 7 years we copy your content to the latest media. There is always a small possibility that both copies can fail within 5 to 7 years. WE CANNOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR MEDIA FAILURES AND WE CANNOT BE HELD LIABAL FOR SUCH FAILURES ( see terms and conditions section).

Failure to pay the annual yearly fee on the anniversary of your shipping date will constituent a breach of the contract. We have the right to dispose of your media within a month after the expiry date. We will send you an e-mail and a letter to notify you of your outstanding invoice. If you move please remember to e-mail us with the new address information. No further notification will be given. In order to avoid, this please pay by automatic bank withdrawal. Remember to send us a void cheque with your order please.

The cost is negligible. Its cheaper then storing the cd in a bank vault! Protect your memories from natural disasters.
